The airfield or airport Vilshofen is officially called „Verkehrslandeplatz Passau-Vilshofen“. It is operated by a special purpose association called „Zweckverband Verkehrslandeplatz Passau-Vilshofen“, a public corporation. Members of the association are the cities Passau and Vilshofen and the district of Passau.

As a commercial airfield we are subject to operating obligations in contrast to special airfields operated by air sports clubs, for example. Therefore, as an infrastructure facility, we are available to air traffic - commercial flight operations, company traffic, professional and private flights, police and rescue services, disaster control and preparedness - all year round with only a few exceptions.
